While researching liposuction surgeons, you have likely discovered that there are a number of doctors in the Seattle and Bellevue area that are offering liposuction. A Board Certificated plastic surgeon
Dr. Sattler is a double-board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in plastic surgery of the breast and body. He has over 7 years of surgical training in two major University surgical training programs on the West coast. He has personally operated with and obtained training from some of the most experienced cosmetic surgeons in the business.
Dr. Sattler is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only plastic and cosmetic surgery certification board that is recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
A certified Ambulatory Surgical Center
Our liposuction patients are cared for in an Ambulatory Surgical Center that is certified by both the state of Washington and Medicare. This is the highest level of certification that can be achieved for a surgery center. It is hard to believe, but there are physicians doing liposuction in un-certified facilities without an anesthesia provider in attendance. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center is a hospital-grade facility with certified anesthesia providers who care for all of our liposuction patients.
Anesthesia is an important part of a safe liposuction procedure
Although it is possible to do liposuction without sedation, it is not a comfortable experience for most patients. Using Twighlight Anesthesia techniques, liposuction can be done safely and efficiently. Without the benefit of Twilight Anesthesia, liposuction can be very a uncomfortable experience for patients. The safety of Twilight Anesthesia under the care of a certified anesthesia provider has been extensively tested. Our surgery center has done thousands of surgical procedures under Twilight Anesthesia without a complication related to anesthesia.
Local hospital privileges for liposuction procedures
Liposuction is an outpatient procedure performed outside of the hospital environment. Dr. Sattler maintains active hospital privileges in plastic surgery at both Swedish and Overlake medical centers. Hospital privileges in liposuction are an added reassurance for patients that Dr. Sattler has the proper training, experience and board-certification to perform liposuction in a safe and ethical manner.
Other available treatment options besides liposuction
Liposuction is not the right treatment for all patients. Some patients wish to avoid surgery, and can be treated with non-invasive techniques, like Zeltiq cryolipolysis. Some patients have issues with skin laxity and sagging soft tissues that liposuction will not correct, and will possibly make worse. Procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) or brachioplasty (arm lift) address skin laxity and sagging soft tissues in a way liposuction cannot. Some clinics can only offer liposuction to patients because their 'surgeons' do not have the training or experience to offer more substantial surgical procedures. Dr. Sattler performs the full spectrum of surgical techniques to treat all body contour problems.
